School photos

So that time of year came and went as it always does.  The dreaded school photo session. Cheesy smiles, cheesy poses, retakes… and even if your photos do turn out, don’t forget about the steep package prices… I’m not a big fan of any of it.  Don’t get me wrong, I have had some success with school photos for my children, I’ve even purchased several packages between my two older children.  But I’m always left with a ton of photos that will never be used or sent away as we have a really small family and sending out school photos seems to be a thing of the past!  So this year I decided to take my own…what a concept hey?  A photographer actually taking her own childrens school photos?! Ha!  Why hadn’t I thought of this sooner?

We didn’t have to travel far to have the beautiful fall foliage and sweet light in the background while my boys struck a pose.  I love how these turned out and cannot wait to get them framed and up on our walls:)

If you’re also tired of the same ‘ol school photo sessions, give me a shout and we can set something up and create a package that really works for your needs and your wallet:)

Happy Thanksgiving!

familyblogfall

Family photos should be fun right?!  My favourite photos from family sessions are always the ones that aren’t planned, when the laughter flows and the smiles are genuine. Theres just something magical that happens when families are able to come together and share a few laughs.  I love being able to capture those moments.  Life can be hard and it’s not aways pretty, but having special photos to look back on helps you to remember to be thankful for all the little joys that life can bring;)

This weekend, as Thanksgiving Day is upon us, I am thankful for some of the most amazing wonderful friends and family I could have ever asked for ~ ones that I can share both tears and good ‘ol belly laughs with and always lean on for wisdom.  What are you thankful for this year?

All the feels

I’m baaaaack!! I am so excited to once again be online and behind the camera.  It’s been “a minute” since I put my photography business on hold in exchange for the amazing job of being a stay at home mom.  I just wasn’t one of those moms who could do it all, so I chose my priorities wisely:)  Now that my children have grown a bit (8, 6 and 3) I have a lot more free time on my hands to once again pursue my creative passions!  That makes me extremely giddy with excitement!
